Guide
MCP is a standard way for AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to connect to outside data. Here is what that means for Rent Manager, and the ways to do it. Rent Manager's own option comes first. Last checked: October 26, 2026.
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to outside tools and data. For Rent Manager, an MCP connection is what lets Claude or ChatGPT answer a question from your live Rent Manager data instead of from a file you exported.
At RMUC.26 on October 20, 2026, Rent Manager announced Orion Connect (MCP), described as "a new way to securely connect authorized Rent Manager data with compatible AI tools like Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini." (Source: LinkedIn post by Jeremy Moore of LCS, the company behind Rent Manager.) Rent Manager's pricing page lists "MCP Connector" in the Premium bundle. Rent Manager hasn't published a release date, a price, or details on what it can read or write. Your Rent Manager contact is the source for what applies to your account.
AskRentAI is an independent MCP connector for Rent Manager. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Rent Manager or LCS. It is live today and self-serve: you enter your Rent Manager URL and the credentials of an API user you create, then add AskRentAI to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok. It is read-only by design and never writes to Rent Manager. It costs $10 per user per month and needs a Rent Manager database with API access (how to check yours). Setup guides: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok.
Rent Manager's Web API is what outside tools connect through. A developer can build an MCP server on top of it. If you don't have a developer, see using the Rent Manager API without one.
Other independent connectors for Rent Manager exist. Whichever you consider, ask the questions below, and check that the provider's approach is consistent with your Rent Manager license and terms.

Yes. AskRentAI is live today and self-serve, and the Claude guide walks through setup.
It depends on the connector. Ask who holds your credentials, whether it can write, and how to revoke access. AskRentAI is read-only by design and never writes to Rent Manager.
AskRentAI needs a Rent Manager database with API access. Your bundle name doesn't tell you whether you have it; this guide shows how to check.
